K.D. Fjelstad, D.P.M
Dr. Fjelstad is originally from southern Minnesota. He attended Winona State University and the University
of Minnesota before going to medical school at the Illinois College of Podiatric Medicine in Chicago. His
surgical residency was at St. Anne's Hospital West in Northlake, Illinois. He is married, has two children
currently in college at UW Eau Claire, and Colorado State University in Fort Collins, CO.
He enjoys golf, scuba diving, traveling, and he is a big fan of Golden gopher Hockey.
His medical and surgical interests include reconstructive foot/ankle surgery, sports medicine, pediatric
foot problems and management of diabetic foot complications. His biggest oddity is that he actually enjoys
surgical dissection of cadaver legs/feet to practice new procedures and keep current with older procedures.
He appreciates learning new procedures that enhance patient outcomes, and dislikes new treatment plans that
are more fad and fancy than substance.
